Best honey masks for dry skin

Some natural ingredients are indispensable for skincare, honey is one of these ingredients.

An important ingredient for maintaining the skin.

Benefits of honey for the face

The benefits of honey are natural for the skin. It is antibacterial, which helps fight acne. Honey contains a high percentage of antioxidants, and it fights harmful free radicals that damage your skin.

It is a natural humectant that draws moisture from the air, leaving your skin hydrated and smooth. And it can help break up excess sebum that might be clogging your pores, leading to those pesky pimples.

You will get the most benefits by using raw, unfiltered honey. And if you're willing to splurge, you can't beat Manuka honey. Coming from the Manuka tree in New Zealand and Australia, this honey is a superfood for bacteria that has tons of immune system and wound care benefits.

Put a jar around it and dab honey on acne, chapped lips, burns, and minor cuts.

And if you feel nauseous and especially if you are coughing, it is useful to take a spoon or two.

How to use honey on your face

We all spend money on skincare products, but sometimes it's okay to skip fancy serums and flaunt good honey.

You can use it to wash your face, make a scrub, or treat your skin with a weekly homemade honey mask.

Honey is a great complement to any skincare regimen.

Here are some perfect masks to try at home. Start with clean skin, and before applying the honey mask, place a warm wet washcloth on your face to open up the pores. After rinsing off the mask, wash your face with cold water or use a toner to close the pores. Then put a good oil on the face.

8 recipes for a dry face mask with honey

Honey and lavender mask

Mix 1 tablespoon of raw honey or Manuka honey (lots of antioxidants for the skin) with 2-3 drops of lavender essential oil. Apply on the face and leave for 15-20 minutes. Use a warm towel to wipe.

Face mask with honey and lemon

Mix 1 tablespoon of raw honey or Manuka honey with 1-2 drops of lemongrass essential oil. Apply on the face and leave for 15-20 minutes.

Use a warm towel to wipe. Make sure to avoid direct exposure to sunlight within 24 hours of using the mask, because lemon oil is sensitive to sunlight.

Moisturizing face mask with honey and yogurt

Mix 1 tablespoon of raw honey or Manuka honey with 2 tablespoons of plain yogurt. Apply on the face and leave for 15-20 minutes. Use a warm towel to wipe.

Purifying face mask with honey and patchouli

Mix 1 tablespoon of raw honey or Manuka honey with 2-3 drops of patchouli essential oil. Apply on the face and leave for 15-20 minutes. Use a warm towel to wipe.

Moisturizing face mask with honey and avocado

Mix 1 tablespoon of raw honey or manuka honey and half a ripe avocado, apply to the face, and leave for 15-20 minutes. Use a warm towel to wipe.

Nourishing face mask with honey and oats

Mix 1 tablespoon of raw honey or Manuka honey with 2 tablespoons of cooked oatmeal. Apply on the face and leave for 15-20 minutes. Use a warm towel to wipe.

Peel-off the face mask with honey and oatmeal

Mix 1 tablespoon of raw honey or Manuka honey, and 1 tablespoon of uncooked oatmeal (I'd rather grind in a blender into a powder than use whole oats for a thinner, gentler exfoliation). Apply on the face and leave for 15-20 minutes. Use a warm towel to wipe.

Honey face mask

Do you want a cool and simple face mask? Just apply 1-2 tablespoons of raw honey or manuka honey on the face and leave it on for 15-20 minutes.

Use a warm towel to wipe. It is incredibly hydrating and balancing for all skin types.

Soothing mask with mint, honey, and aloe vera

Aloe vera and rose water are great soothing and balancing ingredients that are bound to tame any inflammation you may be experiencing.

Try this mixture during your next impromptu spa night: Crush 2 to 4 mint leaves and mix it with 2 parts honey, 2 parts aloe vera gel, and a few sprays of Rosewater.

Leave it on for up to 20 minutes before rinsing it off with warm water.

Honey & Olive Oil Moisturizing Mask

Adding a natural oil to your honey mask can not only help with the viscosity and application of honey, but natural oils are moisturizers that contain high levels of fatty acids, which hydrate and soothe the skin, so this is a lightweight mask full of skin-healthy antioxidants. Feel free to choose any oil from the following:

coconut, jojoba, and argan, but it is partial to olive oil for this one. Olive oil is especially good for dry skin and also contains many antioxidants such as vitamin E.

Simply blend the two together until smooth, then leave on for 20 minutes.
