The benefits of almonds in the super diet

Nutritionists describe almonds as a “superfood” in the diet, given their health benefits and their role in weight loss, if eaten as a snack in the diet, as it is rich in healthy fats, fiber, and proteins.

A medium-sized almond contains seven calories, and a cup (250 milliliters) contains 830 calories.

The benefits of almonds in the super diet

It is known that healthy fats and dietary fibers are important for losing weight, given that they help their intake to feel full, and they are available in almonds, despite the fat and balanced calories in them.

But when eaten in moderation, almonds make the blood sugar level more stable, compared to low-fat meals. Thus, it reduces energy loss and food cravings.

In this context, an article issued in 2003 in the "International Journal of Obesity", noted that after comparing the cases of a group of women who consumed almonds over six months, with the second group of them who did not eat them

it noted that the women of the first group witnessed a decrease in kilograms more than their weight, especially around their waist, in addition to fat mass and systolic blood pressure.

In addition, about 10 or 15 percent of the fat available in almonds is not absorbed by the body, so fewer calories are consumed when digesting them.

Benefits of bulk almonds

Almonds are rich in monounsaturated fats, which are linked to lowering the risk of heart disease, and eating them regularly leads to lower levels of bad cholesterol.

It is also replete with several important nutrients, including vitamin E and other powerful antioxidants, such as resveratrol, catechin, epicatechin, kaempferol, and quercetin, which delay the appearance of signs of aging.

It also contains vitamin B2, known as riboflavin, as well as manganese, phosphorous, iron, and magnesium.

An indication that the majority of people with diabetes complain of a deficiency in magnesium, and the latter has a role in controlling blood sugar.

Almonds also reduce inflammation and oxidative stress caused by diabetes, which in turn reduces complications of diabetes, such as heart disease.

Almonds improve blood circulation, moisturize the skin and enhance the ability to heal wounds.

In addition to healthy fats and alkaline-forming molecules, almonds (particularly the peel) contain "probiotics" that aid in digestion, detoxify the body, and promote healthy bacterial growth in the gut.
